Acres of Diamonds provides moms and kids experiencing homelessness non-traditional, community-based transitional housing.
Families experiencing generations of poverty, abuse, domestic violence, and addiction can experience cycles of homelessness. It is our mission to help break the cycle of homelessness in the lives of moms and their children by helping to provide solutions that are both holistic and long-term to tackle these underlying problems.

Unlike other organizations in Western Washington that offer short-term transitional housing or rapid-rehousing, Acres of Diamonds offers longer-term transitional housing. This housing is part of the Acres of Diamonds Program that teaches women healthy coping skills and necessary life-skills that will help them become self-sufficient. Women and their children can stay as long as they are making progress towards their independence.
Women in the Acres of Diamonds Program are required to participate in a variety of activities including:
- Counseling
- Mentoring
- Health and nutrition classes
- Financial literacy and budgeting
- Parenting classes
- Interview and job coaching
The Acres of Diamonds Program is designed to help empower women to take chances and to live a stable and healthy life after leaving Acres of Diamonds.
