PrayerNet October 2009 So many of the moms who come here are separated from their children. There is no easy solution for them; each situation is quite complex. We ask your prayers for God’s will to be clearly seen in each of these lives. Please pray for... Inara and her mom Kristy The emotion was unmistakable in her voice. Carol has been volunteering her legal expertise to several of our families. She asked me to pray that the judge will allow a three-week continuance in Kristy’s case. “If we were to go in today, I’m afraid she would lose her daughter. We just need more time.” I cannot believe that Inara actually may not be returned to her mother! She was removed to an aunt’s house two weeks ago by a court order based on unfounded allegations that Kristy, her mom, is not safe. And, there is a history of abuse to Inara at this aunt’s home. The first thing Kristy did was to call CPS to get her daughter to safety, even if it meant a foster home. She was told CPS doesn’t remove children based on risk. Yet the court order required removal from the mom based on risk? The system can be so perplexing to work with! We are thanking God that the week before Inara’s removal, she stated, “I want Jesus to come into my heart.” Her prayer for salvation is truly precious. At four-years old, this child is very sincere about the meaning of making Christ the Lord of her life. Rejoicing goes on throughout the home! She left with an obvious measure of peace, which brought great comfort to her mom! Thankfully the continuance was granted. Now let us pray that the courts will see the truth clearly — the unfounded allegations of this case, and that the mom’s faith will carry her through this three-week wait. Also, please pray that Inara will be protected while she’s away and that the Lord’s presence will strengthen her child-like faith. Another matter weighs heavily on the hearts of our staff regarding Kristy. She has been unwilling to forgive any of the heartaches in her life. We’ve been told she’s actually afraid to let go of her unforgiveness because then she would have nothing left. I am boldly asking the Lord to bring this hurting heart to full forgiveness by the time Inara is returned to her. That is but a small request for the mighty God we serve!
